Abrasive Blasting
Abrasive blasting, previously referred to as Sandblasting, is the process of forcibly propelling a stream of abrasive material against a surface under high pressure to:
- Smoothen a rough surface
- Roughen a smooth surface
- Shape a surface
- Remove surface contaminants
A pressurised fluid, typically compressed air or a centrifugal wheel, is used to propel the blasting material. The blasting can reach all corners of the surface, leaving the metal ready for protective coating. As an ERA17 certified site, WABS is equipped with a sizeable fully-sealed blast shed, dedicated steel grit room with moving stock rail tracks and outdoor blast bay.
The blast areas and production paint shed utilise a dust extraction and media recycling system to allow for all-year-round blasting, regardless of the weather. WABS has a wide range of blasting media options, including garnet, steel grit & shot, single-use and recycle media, aluminium, oxide and glass bead.

UHP Water Jetting
Ultra-high-pressure water jetting, or UHP water jetting, uses highly pressurised water to remove a coating or contaminant from a substrate. The system pressurises water to an ultra-high pressure, which is delivered through a rotating head with different angled ports to achieve a cutting pattern. Water jetting can remove all coatings, including paint, rubber, ceramics, concrete, polyurea and many more substances.
The most significant benefits of water jetting include eliminating dust and the easy ability to capture water waste. By capturing water waste, we can filter the waste and return it to the natural environment, saving expenses on waste disposal.
At WABS, we have two ultra-high units. These units can run two guns and is interchangeable between ultra-high jetting 40K small water volume and high-pressure 20K large water volume. Moreover, we have two truck-mounted mobile NLB Waterblast units with a 20K psi capacity.
Our Services Include:
- Removal of corrosion
- Removal of paint and rubber
- Removal of ceramics and concrete demolition
- Removal of polyurea
- Pipe cleaning
- Conveyor belt cleaning
Living up to a firmly established reputation of over 30 years, WABS can transform any piece of rusty old steel back to its former glory. Please discuss your project with us today!
